Adult Mental Health Local Advisory Council (LAC)
The Adult Mental Health LAC's mission is to advise and educate the county commissioners of the unmet needs and accessibility of adult mental health services for citizens in Clay County and their families.

Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment conducts public hearings for written requests for variances and appeals of an administrative decision (made by either the Clay County Planning Director or the Clay County Planning Commission).

Noxious Weed Appeal Committee
The Noxious Weed Appeal Committee is an appointed committee whose duties are to review cases in which landowners have failed to control noxious weeds, have been sent an individual notice (“Notice 1” form) from the County Agriculture Inspector, and have appealed that notice. In these cases, the appeal committee must meet, inspect the land, and decide what the next course of action shall be. They decide whether or not the County Agriculture Inspector may hire the control or eradication work done.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission holds public hearings for requests for Use Permits, Interim Ordinances, Ordinance Changes / Amendments, Platted Subdivisions, Rezoning and Single Lot Subdivisions (that cannot be approved administratively).

Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) Board
Soil & Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) are special purpose units of government that manage natural resource programs. Minnesota has 88 SWCDs, and their boundaries usually coincide with county lines. Each SWCD is governed by a 5-member board of supervisors elected by the citizens of the county. The SWCD Board is responsible for policy development, annual plans, long range plans and budgets.

The purpose of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee is to assist the county board and staff in the activities of the county solid waste management system.
