What are the symptoms of the flu for children?

The following are symptoms of the flu:

Extreme fatigue and tiredness
Fever 100° F to 104° Fahrenheit
Severe headache
Sometimes a dry cough, runny nose and sneezing
Sore throat
Sudden onset of severe muscle aches

They may experience vomiting and diarrhea along with symptoms mentioned above.

5. What should I do if I have flu-like symptoms?

Avoid public gatherings.
Call your healthcare provider.
Drink plenty of clear fluids.
Limit your contact with other people as much as possible.
Stay home from work or school until your fever has ended and you are able to do daily activities.
Stay home while you have a fever (prepare to be at home for 7-10 days).
Use over the counter medications (no aspirin).

6. Where can I go to get my flu vaccine?

It is important to get your seasonal flu shot when the vaccine is available.

Please call for an appointment at 218-299-7777. The cost is $40. If you have Medicare and Minnesota Medical Assistance, claims can be filed to insurance. Insurance cards are required.
