Medical Reserve Corps

The mission of the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is to serve citizens and communities throughout the United States by establishing local teams of volunteers to strengthen the public health infrastructure and improve emergency preparedness.

The Clay County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) was established in 2005 to provide assistance during public health emergencies and events. The MRC's purpose and activities include:

  • Recruit volunteers.
  • Enroll and check credentials of volunteers.
  • Establish a database.
  • Conduct volunteer training.
  • Deploy planning.
  • Develop non-emergency public health volunteer opportunities.

The main focus is to develop the corps of volunteer health professionals who can assist in the event of a bioterrorism event or public health emergency.

  • The Medical Reserve Corps provides training for volunteers so they are prepared to assist in an emergency.
  • The Medical Reserve Corps brings national recognition and support to the local community.

Join the Corps

All healthcare professionals should join. Also, social workers, mental health counselors, interpreters, clergy and others with healthcare backgrounds / skills that would be willing to volunteer.

After completing and submitting your application, you will be contacted regarding orientation and training.
