Naloxone Training

Opioid Overdose Response and Naloxone Administration Training:

The Opioid Program Manager can provide naloxone training to any interested individuals or groups.

The formal training is 1 hour and covers the following objectives:

  • Identify what puts a person at higher risk for an overdose
  • Know how to recognize an overdose
  • Know how to effectively respond to an overdose, including the administration of NARCAN® Nasal Spray and/or intramuscular naloxone
  • Be familiar with the relevant Minnesota laws permitting individual use of naloxone
  • Know how to access naloxone & other resources
