Clay County is one of three counties that make up the West Central Regional Water District (WCRWD) in west central Minnesota. WCRWD is currently moving through the judicial process required to complete the formation and will be able to offer the water quality and quantity needed for parts of Clay County. Sanitation
Garbage
The City of Moorhead provides garbage pickup within city limits. Rural Clay County and small cities are serviced by Fuchs Sanitation or Waste Management.
Recycling
The City of Moorhead provides recycling pickup within city limits. Rural Clay County and small cities are either serviced by Fuchs Sanitation or Waste Management and/or have self-service recycling centers. Recycling Center locations can be found on Clay County's Facilities Page.

Natural Gas/Propane
Xcel Energy services natural gas to municipalities in Clay County. In areas where natural gas is not available, propane is commonly used. Property owners are responsible for obtaining their own propane.
