Clay County is accepting applications to be considered for a Full-Time Juvenile Detention Worker in the secure unit with the West Central Regional Juvenile Center.

Starting Salary 

  • $22.42 per hour 

Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from college or a technical school or (60 credits or more)
    • 3-6 months experience working with at-risk population.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation

Application Information

  • If you are an eligible military veteran and wish to claim Veteran’s Preference, you must present a legible photocopy of your DD214 form to the Office of Human Resources. All veterans who are certified will be considered for appointment

Duties and Essential Functions 

  • Provides supervision and ensures the safety and security of clients.
  • Assists in the supervision of mandated programming for residents
  • Complete intakes of all new admits into the juvenile center.
  • Transport clients to court hearings, medical, dental and psychiatric appointments
  • Performs safety inspections at night.
  • Attend staff trainings.
  • Perform custodial functions including building safety and security.
